If you bid during the 4 or 5 day tasting period, you just pay $29 if i've not remembered wrongly. Of course if the name has a snap on it, it wouldn't enter the tasting period. This is what happens to most good names.
So for a flipper to catch a drop, it has to go through 2 rejects by list miners. First, no one thinks it is worth $60 to snap. Second, during the 4 or 5 days tasting period, no one thinks it is worth $29.
