There hasn't been a decent chinese domain offered for low xxx since I sold diamond.net for 2500 in early December. That really woke the flippers up.

.

To be fair there are some average names on sale, but the good ones are kept. I go through the drop list, so i know. This rarely happens since the better ones will be under snap.

Are you kidding? I just got lucky and was able to snap a good chinese domain from a flipper's auction before anybody else could. I actually have a couple more, but I won't sell them so cheaply, so they will just gather dust as they never get visited either. Like I said, I'm keeping maybe 3 or 4.

I have a lot of two-word russian stuff that will probably do very well as minisites as soon as Sergey Brin gets busy and whips Yandex' backside.

For purposes of profitability, I can not hold on to hundreds of domains that do not receive traffic or generate revenue. I have checked my chinese domains in google keyword tool and most of them had very high search volume for the term verbatim, but still zero traffic. So they are going the way of the dodo. No traffic, no renewal.
I agree it's difficult to hold a large portfolio of Chinese domains. As you have said there is too little profit at the moment.
Just about all parking is blocked by the GFW, and PPC pays peanuts..
Also mini-sites are hard to get good SERPS, as baidu is to get near the top pages for competitive terms, just too many competing pages..

Lately i've just been looking at holding terms that will be developed in the future, (full blown websites - not mini sites).

Did you mean me or mrgrohan? Anyway :-)

I posted a series of sales and auction threads with chinese names just a day or two ago, but you better hurry if you want any of them. They will delete soon.

touchring,

I'm begging you to stop posting about that domain!

You got the deal of a century...

I'm trying to counter the general misconception that chinese names don't get traffic, as you know the topic of this thread is "Dropping nearly all of my chinese domains".

I've got other chinese names that earn much more, but since that domain is already known to this forum, i'm using it as a case example.

If you find this unsettling, i have removed the statistics.
