Can anyone tell me if once a .tv is registered, can it be converted into premium name? As i understand, the variable pricing applies only to name that are "reserved".

From my knowledge once it is being held, no. But if that holder drops or expires a .tv, then the registry can convert it to premium.

ya, that's the reason why holders of prime dot tv that registered them early are making good money. overall, such a rule benefits the early birds.

the model itself is the dumbest thing ever and based off of greed. the way i see it u purchase a name for xxxxx thats a sunk cost but to have renewals at xxxxx a yr takes away the value of the name . The idea that a big company might be willing to do that on any name much less a .tv where they would still have to pour money into marketing it .
