Hey there,
I'm trying to develop my first japanese (I'm european) using dreamweber, copying/pasting some texts I already hace in a word document. My surprise when I try to paste them on DW they appear as a long string of "?". How can I correct that? I have also tried with Notepad and UTF-8 encoding, with no better luck. Anybody can help? Thanks ! Ivan |

Before your keywords and metadata, put something like this in the code:
Quote:
Is not necessary, but make sure you have at least: <html lang="ja"><META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Language" content="ja" charset="UTF-8" language="Japanese"> Don't know the program you're using (Dreamweaver? it'll work in that), but if you have JP text enabled on your OS you should definitely see the characters in a text editor. What OS are you using? Even if you can't see it on your hard drive, publish it to a site to test it in your browser. Hope this helps. Last edited by clipper : 10th June 2008 at 05:25:11. |

Use JEdit and set it to UTF-8 output. It works beautifully on windoze and it also can publish via ftp or sftp. .

I have tried changing the enconding (which I had already done in several ways) and no luck when editing in Dreamweber (It's ok with wordpad but I have some problems splitting lines since I don't know where you can and where you can't split them
I'll give a shot to JEdit Thanks ! |
