When you link to your site from external sources what to you use (IDN: www.映画.com or Punycode: www.xn--liv724.com)?
In one hand linking to IDN domain would have good effect in terms of SE since those can give more relevance to the term you are looking for, but the vast majority of the users aren't using IDN compatible browsers yet (I find the problem myself in my brother's comp using a lower version of IExplore). So what do you think about mixing them up? Just IDN? Just Punycode? Best regards, Ivan |

I'm using punycode for the links, to make sure the links actually link..
Use foreign text (domain keywords) for the anchor - link text. |

Exactly the same as mgrohan.
Punycode for the actual links - as I believe that if you don' tuse punycode in the link, then IE6 ( which unfortunately has the most coverage ) can't do anything apart from show a "Page not found" page. Alex

In Japan, indexing occurs much faster by using the punycode our informal experiments show.

as I used the same way as mgrohan for Arabic and Russian websites and it works great, SEO beneficially too IMO if you used the 'Domain Keyword'/'your main foreign keyword' as an anchortext along with strong back link in a relative website you got high rank within SE .. but using the punycode do the work for you? is it OK with other languages too or just Japanese ones?

As I have understood, he doesn't use punycode as anchor but at the URL. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, it would be beneficial to link using the "local word" in the URL also. I'm doing some tests right now, I'll tell you in a couple of monts...
