There is plenty of domains left to register .. I have lists of reasonable / decent 'free-to-reg' domains. I occasionally run them to see what has been taken and surprisingly few are gone. As you say, a bit of research and some effort will turn up some reasonable domains.

Welcome Rick. I'm a big supporter of .jp as anyone around here can attest. The price has really come down. I encourage you to try those. It's definitely harder to handreg in Japanese these days, but the well is not completely dry. Also as others point out. Pretty decent names are sold at value across all the IDN forums from time to time as people look for liquidity or reshape portfolios. Good to keep a lookout. Happy to help give you an opinion on a Japanese name if you are thinking about buying something second hand. Just PM me.

God. I miss the days when you could generate a list of 200 prime terms and half of them were unregged. Those were some heady times my friends!

It might not be sex.com, but I think it will be worth something one day to a Brazilian based mining company (so I hope). Brazil, which has a population of 180 million people, is one of the biggest mining producers in the world. Got to be worth more than the reg fee!

For 7 dollars you can't go wrong. Hell, you could own it for 20 years and only be 150 dollars into it.

I bought two aftermarket names from Zen. I personally won't be hand-registering names because I don't have the time. I'll just splash some money around here for a while and see what comes of it.

wow its great to see someone of your position here interested to learn and invest in idn's. There are some very smart and helpful people here. As i know i would have not continued with idn's in the beginning if those first few didn't take the time to help a beginner like i was.

Arabic is my game and its were my portfolio accounts to most. If you are interested.

I'm going to get my feet wet with Japanese and Chinese but I'm sure I'll expand beyond that eventually.
