I am out of the loop and was not aware that anything was happening- is it the same old same old?

I personally like it here and have tried the other IDN forums which generally do not suit me for various reasons.

That said, any way that IDN's can get promoted has my vote- competition / exposure is good.

I would definitely hang around both, but would be around here more. I always check back now and then to see what's going on with IDNF.

IDNF is pretty defunct now, but the history is helpful.
I think most of us are happy to have a stable place.
I also need to start thinking about development, not
sure which language to concentrate on first really.

Well I am a very direct person, so I asked a very direct question. I didn't leave an option in the middle, because this is not interesting information to me. But of course those who are in the middle are welcome to comment, as several already have.

Frankly, I do not see any value or benefit in trying to revive a dead forum, thus raising the count of active IDN forums up to three - our numbers are not that large. The driving force behind this effort is greed, business potential, return on investment, however you want to call it. It is certainly not something that is motivated by taking the best interests of the community at large into consideration.

Money is the root of all evil. Let the old thing die and rest in peace.

In spite of that, my humble observation would have pointed to IDNF being dead in the water. As a still functioning mod there, the requests from prospective users to pleeease authenticate their memberships are few and far between. Between IDNChannel & DNLocal, my guess is the quest for IDN forum supremecy is pretty much stitched up.....

Most will wander between the forums, getting more information, creating more topics, so what ? There is no reason whatsoever for animosity, the childish stuff that plagues most ascii-forums, rivalry is a different matter.

Imo there's no point in trying to bury IDNF under a pile of crap if you already think it's shit.
