Interesting offer for russian dot net

I own both variants .com and .net for russian IDN.

Received offer for dot net. He says that found domain via whois.

I asked why he wants .net but not .com. He says that just wants .net. No talks about price yet.

So why that?

He may be the owner of the ASCII.net version of your IDN.net.

Good idea. Though this domain can be transliterated at least 5 different variants...

so he is most probably a spammer

This is a myth. They have produced over 32m pages of content on dot net domains.

Makes me kick myself for dropping a certain Russian.net that, fortunately, went to an awesome IDN'er the regulars all know....

I just didn't think Russian.net had the native respectability due to the whole net=not deal....wouldn't have worked well with this term
