I am probably not updated on this but do you see this being resolved or you think punycode will remain what the browser is showing?

Firefox is not showing any signs of willingness to change. They are an american organization, and their primary interest is to keep americans from being tricked into doing business with ascii look-alikes.
Chrome is even worse. Chrome doesn't whitelist ANYTHING by default. But on the positive note, a user can add per-language whitelisting if you go through a 7 step process which I described in an earlier post. Google is also an american organization with the same interest of keeping americans from being tricked into doing business with ascii look-alikes. That's my take on the current situation. .
