Doesn't it literally translate to "Grand Prize"?
I can see Grand Prix as a tm as it is well known the world over, but translations in other languages? Don't think so. Unless it's registered as such in Brazil/Portugal. Maybe they have it registered in the countries (and language) where F1 takes place. Don't really know. I wanna see them claim grandprize.com as a tm infringing domain. |

yes, literally "grand prize"
common expression associated with f1 and other types of motor sports both in brazil and portugal (and worldwide probably), can´t really see a tm infrigement here but be advised there is a developed .com.br site (ascii) |

The FIA have trademarked 'Grand Prix' internationally - and this certainly is the most common name for it in Brazil as well - but I doubt Grande Prêmio is trademarked. Tell Sedo the contention is frivolous and if the complaintant was serious they would have taken it to WIPO.

The one good thing is that IDN now have a place in Sedo's blacklistings - progress of sorts.

Well Sedo are a German company, so you expect that they'd have some sort of grasp of IDNs, but slow accommodating them nonetheless.
Actually, I wonder if Tim Schumacher (Sedo CEO) is related to Michael? Maybe that's why they're so interested in your domain.
