Didn't read the whole thing in detail but I noticed there's some talk about IDN gTLD in the public comments.
Some businessmen who have attented the ICANN conferences are asking the natural question "where is the IDN .com and why there is no a fast-track process for the most popular extension?" I felt bad for the bluebridges.net guy - most likely someone has already registered the version of his domain in arabic, since the document is public. Someone wants to participiate in some sort of a public auction for the IDN .coms or something.. lots of surprises await this person.

I'm a little skeptical regarding the comments of 2 persons. Seems like they are entering a plea of innocence. IDNs have been around for 7 or 8 years now, and IDNs are displayed on most of the big registrars GUI's.
Not sure if they are being honest in their comments. |

Actually it is not so much fast-tracking that is required as some clarification of direction. We do not only not know how long it is going to take to get there, we don't even know for sure where they think they are bloody going.
Having said all that I am convinced that IDN.com are good investments regardless of language or the final outcome. However, to go close to comparable price to ASCII, that kind of clarity is going to be essential. |
