I don't think it will be as good, it's a bit like .fr which is not comparable to .de. Moreover french people are less cautious about the exact spelling of the words with the accents whereas german people care more.

But in the end of the day it really depends on the word, and for the french IDN.com the first generation of IDNers grabbed the really best ones, those that have significant traffic or are top-tier terms. These top french IDN.com will sell well I think, and maybe very well. I hope so for those of you who have those kind of names.

A lot of new-comers like me or even fresher IDNers will only grab average quality and I don't think it will sell good. Even in the ASCII world, the sales are quite low for the french names of medium quality. This should be obvious but before fresh regging, check if the ASCII is still on Sedo, traffic, how many offers it got, ... I've passed on a lot of regs recently, after my initial stupid beginner regs

Highly Unlikely. As I have been trying to tell people for years Dabsi's French domains are really not that good!

For me, the significance of this sale is not so much the amount as who it was sold to. If it was an end-user rather than a domainer, this is significant indeed. Does anyone know who bought it?

A so called win-win deal
Based essentially on the generated revenues.

2 excellent transactions within 4 months, after mutualité.com

French IDN are coming now.

I still have societes.mobi

Well you need some times

But if you find some good buyers for our IDNs (under Goldenidn.com)
Let's talk about a fee

You can't use present price to gauge future price. This is like saying news corp paid too much when they bought tv.com for $10,000 in 1996.

I think Dabsi sold societes.com too early.
