Ah this is very true. Real sites and mini sites perform better than parking and certainly are the larger part of the revenue I see. I believe the vast bulk of my sites earn their reg fees back on a yearly basis and the good ones can earn their reg fee equivalent every month. It's a little too manual for me and I have way too many .jp to make mini-sites for each of them given my day job. Anyone have a good automated solution for japanese mini-site creation?

That's interesting. Checking just the top performers that are parked, I see that many of mine I own in both .jp and .com. I will note that if you look at the distribution of traffic - .com gets traffic more broadly across my portfolio at low levels whereas .jp domains have more of hit or miss dynamic.

Rhys, I want to thank you for bringing this up. I am going through my jp's and .com and found that some of my earlier regs are actually more popular in china.
For example growing in japanese is cultivation or gardining in chinese. I have the .jp. I only have about 30 jps, many haven't been parked yet.Unfortunately, I mixed some of my chinese with japanese .coms when I parked them. Hence, whenever I look at the figures, I see a lot of names with zero hits per month....time to move those chinese out. |
